Advice
If you don't know where to turn then start here! We have staff qualified in advice and guidance to help you find the right course and career path.
Money Matters
If you are aged 16-19 and studying for more than 12 hours a week and your annual household income is less than £30,810 you may qualify for the Educational Maintenance Allowance. This is a weekly payment subject to attendance with bonus payments made in recognition of good progress and targets being met.
If you are studying either full or part time and facing financial hardship you may qualify for help towards the costs of materials, equipment and exams through the Learner Support Fund.
Travel
We provide free coaches from and to Heath Hayes via Chase Terrace and Wood End via Kingsbury. If you are unable to use these services you may qualify for a travel refund. As the College operates a green transport policy refunds are only available for public transport. More details about travel…
Activities
We want you to remember your time as a valuable and fun experience where you not only learned something new and gained a qualification but met new people and tried new things. You can join in countless activities, trips and visits that will enable you to make new friends and have fun. Many of the trips and visits are offered at much reduced rates. Some of the trips planned for 2006/07:
- Alton Towers
- Clothes Show Live
- I-Max Cinema
- London for Christmas shopping
Trips and media trip.
Careers
Thinking about your next steps? Need help? The College Careers Department offers an all-age guidance service to prospective and current students. We can help you choose which course suits your needs; and when you are at College, what your next steps may be.
Childcare
If you have pre-school children we can provide financial support. The Tamworth Campus has a 40 place nursery that takes children from 0-5.
Learning
Your success and achievement is important to us so as a full-time student you can get extra help with your learning. This can range from a little help with assignment writing through to specialist support for specific learning difficulties including dyslexia.
Support
Personal care support is available for disabled students and we use ASSIST to provide support for students with hearing or sights problems.
