Higher Education Graduation Ceremony
Friday 16th November 2007 was the date for Tamworth & Lichfield College’s Higher Education Graduation Ceremony
The Ceremony took place in the evening within the wondrous setting of Lichfield Cathedral. This amazing setting was perfect for such a grand occasion.
Students were excited to put on their cap and gown and had the opportunity to have portrait photographs taken. They then had to take their seats with fellow students whilst friends, family and other guests looked on.
Students were not the only ones who got dressed up. Staff, Governors and Special Guests all had to put on their gowns and caps for the ceremony.
The ceremony started with a procession of Staff, Governors and Guests to the award stage. Once the procession had been seated the rest of ceremony began.
Ann Neville, Principal of the College, welcomed everyone to the ceremony and spoke of the Colleges success and that of its students. Ann also introduced Governors and Guests to the ceremony. The Special Guest for the evening was Dame Patricia Morgan-Webb. After the introduction the awarding of certificates started. Students from each subject area were called up to the stage to collect their certificate from Dame Patricia and Principal Ann Neville.
Once all the awards had been given out, the stage was emptied and students were invited to come on stage and throw their caps in the air to celebrate their success. After this everyone was invited to have some food and refreshment and enjoy the rest of the evening.
