Tamworth and Lichfield College Welcomes the Aimhigher Roadshow

Tamworth and Lichfield College recently saw another successful visit from the Aimhigher Roadshow. This is a specialised trailer that folds out into a mobile cinema room, and it is part of a national tour visiting Schools and Colleges around the UK. Tamworth and Lichfield College were pleased to be included in the national schedule.

The purpose of the Aimhigher Roadshow is to raise the awareness about opportunities in Higher Education, especially to those students from families and communities with no tradition of entering University.

The Roadshow features a recent University graduate who facilitates the presentation and inspires students using a film, the latest computer technology and their own personal experience.
Unfortunately, there is a restriction on the actual numbers of people who can be aboard the specially constructed trailer at any one time. Still seventy students from Science, Business, Public Services and IT took advantage of the Roadshow’s visit.

The feedback received has been positive. Students were complemented for their interest and behaviour and the College received praise for its hospitality.

Nigel Baxter, Tamworth and Lichfield College Careers Manager, who helped organise the Roadshow’s visit was clearly impressed by the event.
“The Roadshow has been excellent and the students have really been amazed by the trailer,” he said.
“An event like this gives clear information about the routes to Higher Education for students, it helps to promote the benefits and dispel the myths as well.”
