Viva Las Vegas!!
STUDENTS HOST ‘VIVA LAS VEGAS’ FUNDRAISER AT DRAYTON MANOR
Tamworth & Lichfield College Travel and Tourism students are to hold their biggest fundraising event yet with a ‘Viva Las Vegas’ themed evening at Drayton Manor.
Having taken inspiration from across the Atlantic, Drayton Manor’s Missanda suite will be decked out with all the glitz of Vegas and the evening will be packed with Vegas-style entertainment including a ‘Rat Pack’ band, ‘Firebox’ dance group and casino tables.
The event is being held to raise money for an overseas educational visit, during which the students will have the opportunity to shadow a holiday representative and to experience the culture of their resort. The themed evening, complete with formal dress, is expected to attract 170 guests. In addition to the sale of tickets from the event, the students are looking to raise money from the sale of advertising space within the event programme.
Travel and Tourism student, Elaine Dennis, said she was looking forward to the event. “We are really enjoying organising the event which will hopefully be reflected by the success of the evening which promises to be the biggest and best yet!â€
Course tutor Susan Rutherford said that all the students had worked very hard to put the ‘Viva Las Vegas’ evening together. “They’ve done everything themselves, from designing the tickets, to planning the menu and working out the costs involved. I think that they’ve made an excellent job of it and it looks like being a really good evening. The more money they raise, the more they can subsidise the cost of their overseas visit, which is an essential part of the students coursework, and one which they have to fund themselves.â€
The ‘Viva Las Vegas’ evening will be held on March 10th at Drayton Manor. Tickets cost £21.00 each. Anyone interested in advertising in the ‘Viva Las Vegas’ evening event programme, buying tickets or becoming a sponsor should contact Susan Rutherford at Tamworth & Lichfield College on 01827 310202 extension 2346.
